I used to wear the regular B+L Purevision lenses until my eye doctor recently switched me to this type of lens. Compared with the previous version, the Purevision HD is indeed much sharper and feels much more comfortable when you first put them on out of the box, which is much better for my sensitive/chronically dry eyes (as explained to me by the eye doctor). Unfortunately, I would have to agree with the previous reviewer in that these lens do tend to get uncomfortable at the end of their life cycle however I did not find them to be excessively flimsy (I used to wear another brand that frequently had holes/tears in them right out of the box, so in comparison these aren't that bad!).

Personally, I find these lenses to be quite comfortable and give you sharp vision. Perhaps the lifespan could be improved? Overall I think it is a good product, but slightly expensive for the amount of time that they tend to last. I don't see myself switching to another brand in the future due to this product working well for my sensitive eyes.

PureVision 2 HD was my last pair of contacts. They were decent in most regards. Comfort was very good, little dryness and no real irritation.

The best attribute was that my visoun was very sharp. Comparable to my glasses and noticeably more sharp than any other pair that I've worn. The claim of "High Definition Optics" is accurate, quite impressive indeed.

I did consider purchasing them again but unfortunately they have a very poor lifespan and would lose their shape too quickly - they are thin. I also experienced more difficulty putting them but nothing that was intolerable.

I would give them a consideration if your eyeballs are not finicky.

      Comments about PureVision 2 HD:

My last eye doctor forced these on me. For some reason there's a conspiracy in the last few years against extended wear contacts. Honestly if they keep giving me trouble I will end up biting the bullet and getting Lasik, even though surgery freaks me out I'm sick of being forced into these awful thin contacts that I have to take out and clean every day.

She told me these were the improved version of the PureVision contact lenses, my holy grail brand. I found out after I bought 8 boxes that these are meant to be REMOVED DAILY.

So be careful if they're trying to switch you from 30 day night/day extended wear, sleep in, contacts to these things. They are too thin, don't hold enough moisture, aviod.

        Comments about PureVision 2 HD:

I have worn pure vision original long wear contacts since 1999 and have always loved them and recommended them to friends, family and strangers. When I saw that they had released a new version I jumped at the chance to try them and found myself very disappointed. They don't spin freely on the eye, they cause severe dryness and irritation and in the end make me blink uncontrollably. I appreciate that they wanted to improve their product but as for me I will be going back to the original pure vision and will still recommend that version to everyone.

These are hands-down, the worst contacts I've ever had the misfortune of placing on my eyeballs. They were sticky, cumbersome and very difficult to put in. Wearing them was a challenge as they were quite thick and I could feel them the entire time I had them in. I've always worn Biofinity lenses but thought I'd give Bausch+Lomb a try. BIG MISTAKE! I feel mislead by the write-up and comments for the PV2HD lenses and now I have a supply of them that will sit under my bathroom sink collecting dust. I will not make the same mistake and will be sticking with Biofinity going forward!

                          Comments about PureVision 2 HD:

I've been wearing contact lens for about a decade now and have tried a handful of different products, usually going for whatever's on sale; these are probably the worst ones that I've tried so far. At the time of purchase, I needed a refill and these ones were on sale. The reviews were mixed and some had already pointed out that these contacts don't last as long as they should and that it gets uncomfortable very easily. Boy, were they right...

They are not terrible, to be fair. I noticed that things were a bit clearer when I first put them on and that everything is alright during the first week or two. But the other thing I noticed was that they were slightly harder to put on than all my previous contacts; they're simply more rigid and flat. As a long time user, I could manage, but I think new or inexperienced users would have problems putting them on.

But my two biggest criticism with these contacts centres around the theme of not lasting as long as they should. After the first couple of weeks, they become less comfortable and easily irritable. Because they were already rigid to start with, I'd notice that they would get slightly irritable about 6-8 hours into my day, which is much shorter than my past contacts. As the month goes on, the amount of discomfort and irritability gradually increases.

Unfortunately, I bought a year's supply of these contacts in order to qualify for the free shipping so I'm stuck with them. I'll manage... But I'd advise against people buying these unless you've already had past experience with them and know what you're getting into, or have been specifically recommended. Just know what you might be getting into.
