World Sight Day 2018

Healthy Vision for Safe Roads

World Sight Day is an annual day of awareness that brings global focus to blindness and vision impairments. This year's focus is on road safety.

Whether you’re a driver, cyclist, or even a pedestrian, eye sight matters and poor vision can have a critical impact.

Coastal is proud to join the World Sight Day initiative in providing proper vision correction in all facets of life including road safety.

1 in 5 drivers can't see the road Coastal.1

An updated prescription will ensure clear and crisp vision. A pair of sunglasses will also help improve vision on bright days.

Glare during the day or at night slows both detection and reaction.2

Glare, the most complained about visual discomfort by drivers2, can be combatted with anti-reflective lenses.

We Share the Same World

So, shouldn’t we share the same vision? 80% of all vision impairments can be prevented or cured. To improve sight on the road, we invite all road users to adopt these 3 good habits:

1. Get regular eye exams to maintain proper eye health.

2. Wear appropriate prescription eyewear (glasses or contacts).

3. Protect your eyes from glare with anti-reflective glasses and sunglasses.

Our 'Buy One, Give One' Program

We have a wonderful year-round initiative, where Coastal will donate a pair of glasses to someone in need to match every glasses order placed with us. By purchasing from us, you’ll be helping to combat the issue of poor vision in more ways than one.
